RFI is building the Verona to Padova high-speed line through the Iricav Due consortium, led by Webuild with Hitachi Rail. The first lot, about 44 km from Verona to the Vicenza junction worth about €3.4bn, finished civil works, track and systems by 30 June 2026 and is being tested ahead of opening in 2027.

The second lot, the crossing of Vicenza, is fully funded at about €2.2bn and was 24% complete in August 2026. It covers a rebuilt station, a new freight yard, road and drainage works and a new local transit line, and local press describes the timing inside the city as uncertain. The third lot, Vicenza to Padova, has only detailed design funded so far. Civil, track and systems crews base in Vicenza, Montecchio Maggiore and Padova.
