Borssele, Zeeland. TenneT's two converter stations in the Sloe area each connect 2 GW of offshore wind.

TenneT is building two onshore converter stations side by side in the Sloe industrial area in Borsele municipality, Zeeland, for its Net op zee offshore grid programme. Each link brings 2 GW from offshore wind farms over a 525 kV direct current cable and converts it to 380 kV alternating current. BAM started building the IJmuiden Ver Alpha station on Belgiëweg Oost in late 2024, and Dura Vermeer began driving around 3,000 piles for the Nederwiek 1 station near Nieuwdorp in September 2025.

In August 2026 TenneT told neighbours about concrete work on the Nederwiek 1 transformer walls, with permitted night and weekend shifts. Nederwiek 1 must be in service by 2030 at the latest, and RVO planning documents put the build time for a comparable station at up to about four and a half years. With two stations under construction at the same time, crews base in Borssele, Vlissingen, Middelburg and Goes.
